The Phenomenological Approach to the Self

  1. To me, this approach out of all the other views of self makes the most sense. There is something very intuitive about the phenomenological approach to self, that the mind and body are all part of one dynamic system working together as a whole experiential process. I think there is truth in saying that everything we do is biased upon what we can actually grasp, both physically and cognitively. I like the idea that we can't do more than we are capable of, that phenomenology seeks to clarify the world rather than explain it. I don't fully agree with all the tenants, but to me, it makes the most sense out of all the examples we've studied so far.

  2. In reading Alex D.'s comment i feel he expressed his view clearly, as well as defined what phenomenology is considered. I would rate this an "A" comment.

  3. I agree with approach because I think the mind and the body are one. The mind tells the body what to do and what not to do. Another reason is that the mind needs the body to do things and the body needs the mind inorder to work.I give Alex.D comment a B+, Alex really explained his opinon really good and it was well organized too.
